Today, Skybound and Image Comics revealed interior pages and the lineup of variant covers for Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #4, the next chapter of the bestselling new comic book series of the year from the longtime Invincible creative team. The next issue of the blood-soaked, record-breaking new series from co-creator/writer Robert Kirkman (Void Rivals, The Walking Dead) and co-creator/artist Ryan Ottley (Invincible, The Amazing Spider-Man) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. 

Perfect for longtime fans and new readers alike, the new ongoing series reveals the secret story of crowd favorite Battle Beast in what is the most demanded Invincible story of all time! Battle Beast is not only slaughtering his enemies...he’s breaking every sales record along the way!

In addition to the main cover by Ryan Ottley and series colorist Annalisa Leoni (Oblivion Song), the lineup of variant covers for Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #4 includes an open to order cover by Ryan Sook, the continuation of the 1:10 incentive connecting cover series by E.J. Su, a 1:25 incentive variant by Jason Howard, a 1:50 incentive variant by Brett Booth, John Livesay & Andrew Dalhouse, and a 1:100 incentive variant by Eric Canete. 

Created by Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker, Invincible #1 debuted to critical acclaim on January 22, 2003. Ryan Ottley joined soon after on issue #8 in late 2003 as the new series artist and contributing creator. Throughout its fifteen-year run at Image Comics, Invincible not only continued for a historic 146 issues, but also spawned multiple spin-off series and even an inter-company crossover with a certain friendly neighborhood superhero. In 2021, Invincible arrived as a television series and took on a new life with fans globally, streaming exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories. The critically acclaimed adult animated series co-produced by Skybound Animation and Amazon MGM Studios recently wrapped its third season, each of which has been “Certified Fresh” by Rotten Tomatoes, with the second and third seasons earning perfect 100% ratings. With a fourth season on the way and constant new activity for the property across entertainment, Invincible remains a cornerstone of the pop culture landscape that continues to grow in popularity every year.
