REVIEW: 'Vanish' #2 by Donny Cates, Ryan Stegman, JP Mayer, and Sonia Oback

VANISH #2 Writer: Donny Cates Artist: Ryan Stegman, JP Mayer, Sonia Oback Letters: John J. Hill Publisher: Image Comics Release Date: October 26, 2022 Cover Price: $3.99 Meet Deacon Dust. Master illusionist and Oliver Harrison's close childhood friend. Why is this arrogant charmer coming into focus, and what does the superhero team the Prestige has to do with it all? Oliver's past continues to come back and haunt him as the latest chapter of VANISH unfolds! Score: ★★★★☆ (4/5) QUICK REVIEW:  Still buzzing a month later after the year's most raucous and adrenaline-fueled debut of 'Vanish' #1, comes the clean and sober follow-up that focuses on Oliver's complicated relationships. It's a lot more subtle and character-driven storytelling in issue two which is compelling enough and necessary but quite the drop-off in action. The opening scene is a bit disturbing and uncomfortable but demonstrates exactly the kind of callousness that was included in the traini...

REVIEW: 'Census' #2 by Marc Bernardin, Adam Freeman, and Sebastian Piriz

CENSUS #2 Writer: Marc Bernardin, Adam Freeman Artist: Sebastian Piriz Letters: Bernardo Brice Publisher: ComiXology Originals Release Date: October 12, 2022 Cover Price: $2.99 Liam Malone learns the hard way that nothing in his new life is what it seems. Leprechaun counting is a piece of cake, but finding an elusive djinn, well, that might mean taking a closer look at what's going on around him. To get a closer look, read on.. Score: ★★★★☆ (4/5) QUICK REVIEW: 'Census' falls in a rare niche in comics, it's a comedy with a fantasy twist in much the same way 'Men in Black' is with its use of aliens and science fiction. Liam's matter-of-fact approach to encountering mythical figures like leprechauns and djinns along with his wit makes 'Census' a light-hearted and fun read designed to put a smile on your face. After reading the latest horror and superhero comics, this is the perfect palette cleanser to relax with and just enjoy.

Mark Millar & Jorge Jimenez Team Up for Most Violent Chapter Yet in 'Nemesis: Reloaded'

Bestselling creator Mark Millar ( The Magic Order, Kingsman: The Secret Service ) will team with Jorge JimĂ©nez ( Batman ) for the upcoming sequel series, Nemesis: Reloaded . This five-issue miniseries will launch in January 2023 from Image Comics and will join Millar’s growing line of popular comics owned by Netflix.  Nemesis: Reloaded is a star-studded sequel series that will usher in an all-new, blood-drenched chapter for one of Millar’s most controversial—and popular—supervillain creations.  “ Nemesis was just a wee four-issue series I did over a decade ago with co-creator Steve McNiven and it’s probably the series I’m most asked about returning. It’s been through three studios with talents like Tony Scott and Joe and Matt Carnahan attached to write and direct and even a recent polish by the brilliant Emerald Fennell, but now we’re on the cusp of getting it back to Netflix for a whole new start and I was just really burning up to do another comic book about this c...
