Score:

★★★★☆ (4/5)

Issue two left us with an incredible cliffhanger. The Snowman was bearing down on the wounded Father and his two daughters. The soulless killer that wiped out their village is on a relentless rampage to wipe them out too. 'Snow Angels' continues to be a thrilling action adventure in a uniquely frozen setting.

Jeff Lemire is a veteran storyteller and he knows how to squeeze every bit of tension from a scene. With the Snowman marching toward the family, he has Jock focused on the panic and fear of the family and not the oncoming killer. Anxiety sets in as the family squabbles about what to do. Milli dismisses her dad's plea to be left behind. Jock does an amazing job of directing the close-ups of the family especially on the dad with cutting in panels that flashback to their mother. Those panels are colored in brown hues that stand out against the blinding whiteness of the snowy backgrounds. It's all very effective all while the Snowman approaches. This is the kind of fast-paced quick-thinking that happens both on the page and behind the page.

'Snow Angels' #3 keeps giving readers what they crave - high stakes action. Lemire mixes thrills with endearing family dynamics that grounds the story amid a dangerous frozen landscape. Lemire and Jock are at the top of their game in an exciting and enthralling adventure.
