QUICK REVIEW: The way 'Shadecraft' has evolved over the first five issues is pretty impressive. What felt like a smaller story about a girl and some unexplained scary phenomena grew into a story about family secrets that only brought them together. The exciting finale to the first arc finds Zadie and her mom bonding over their shadecraft abilities while trying to get Ricky back from Angela. Joe Henderson held on to some surprises for this finale as the Lus' powers are so dynamic and creatively used that it propels the series into enchantingly fun territory. Lee Garbett and Antonio Fabela do magic of their own with the intricate designs of Ricky's shadow and the versatility from darkness to extreme light in this story. The ending is neat and satisfying but now that we know what shadecraft in the hands of the Lus are capable we need more. Zadie is a star and no wonder 'Shadecraft' is getting a live-action series. 'Shadecraft' has shown a lot of heart, charm, and magic and one arc is simply not enough.
