Score:
★★★★★ (5/5)

QUICK REVIEW: Issue one impressed with a killer crime noir storyline involving an atheist Viking detective, mysterious gruesome murders, and an exiled powerful exiled witch. Issue two offers a quick flashback on Revna's genesis before picking up where the last issue left off with the witch investigating the home of the last murder and encountering an evil demon. Where the first issue was a cleverly paced detective story, issue two is an action-packed monster mash from beginning to end.

Joseph Schmalke's virtuosity as writer and artist (with color assistance from Alyssa Slobodzian) presents a visceral reading experience as two dangerous settings escalate into full-out battles. There's the main event between Revna and Moccus the pig demon as they circle one another until one strikes and then there's the one you don't expect outside the house. Bjorn and Jarl have their own supernatural confrontation that propels 'We Don't Kill Spiders' into an even better series than we first reviewed.

'We Don't Kill Spiders' #2 is a must-buy for fans of horror, supernatural crime dramas, suspense, monsters, and just great exciting storytelling. Issue one was a five-star experience and issue two improves on it. There is never a dull moment and it's a complete treat for comic book readers.
