QUICK REVIEW: Loyal and patient readers of 'Snow Angels' by Jeff Lemire and Jock get rewarded as arc two opens up on some huge revelations about the history of the Trench. After a mesmerizing and thrilling chase over four issues between the Trench's sole survivors, Mae and Milli, and the killing machine known as The Snowman, secrets are revealed about everything.

It takes master storytellers like Jeff Lemire and Jock to sustain a series with very few details as to why everything is happening. It's been a straightforward action thriller in the blinding white landscape of a frozen world where people live and believe that the Trench was sacred and all-encompassing. A deadly terminator relentlessly chasing down the girls and their dad nonstop until he finishes the job has been a suspenseful adventure with breathtaking art from Jock. Now, as the girls discovered there was more to the Trench and life beyond it, the reason it exists at all, and those responsible for it. The opening scene is a stunner that flashes back in a parallel discovery involving the girls' parents.

'Snow Angels' has been a slow but tense rollout but Lemire and Jock are finally showing their cards and letting readers in on the series' secrets. It's an exciting revelation after another that propels the story into a whole new gear. It's what loyal readers have been waiting for.
