Score:
★★★★☆ (4/5)

Our fearless ghost whisperer Kat is caught between a rock and a hard place as angels demand she locate all the ghosts she transported while the demons aren't too far behind. What's a badass stoner chick supposed to do? She assembles her pals for help while finding the ghosts in her mindscape with a plan of their own.

'Dirtbag Rapture' has been quite a ride so far after four issues. Who knew angels and demons could be such jerks? It's put Kat in a precarious position forced to give up the ghosts she's helped or give in to demons who'll summon the apocalypse. Christopher Sebela has really upped the stakes for Kat as things have escalated and despite her best efforts, she has to decide which path she'll take including whether to fight back or not. Having friends with very special specific skills is a big help but not used as a crutch to escape Kat's predicament. Sebela shows restraint in not leaning on her friends more which puts most of the burden on Kat and that challenges her resolve. Kat's arc has swung from being a put-upon curmudgeon ghost transporting stoner to an actual tug of war between heaven and hell, essentially. It's been a hell of a journey so far.

Kendall Goode and Gab Contreras continue to provide vivid and colorful art that even when there isn't much action they keep readers' attention with expressive body language during lively debates about what Kat needs to do. Letterer Jim Campbell has his work cut out with the amount of dialogue with some of it distinctively marked for angels and demons.

'Dirtbag Rapture' #4 has Kat fighting back as she's caught between two opposing agendas. Angels and demons are applying pressure and the only solution might be in her head this whole time. Quirky, funny, exciting, 'Dirtbag Rapture' continues to be a unique adventure that surprises every month.
