Leave it to Kat to ruffle enough feathers to get the angels and demons banded together for one common goal: harnessing Kat's powers to further destroy the world. With the divine vultures circling, her stash missing, and everyone in her mindscape angry and trying to pass over to the after-afterlife, Kat's left high and dry to make sure the end is not, in fact, nigh.

★★★★☆ (4/5)

'Dirtbag Rapture' has been a delightful journey that ends with issue five in fine fashion. The story of Kat, a stoner and reluctant transporter of the dearly departed to the final resting place of their choice, fighting angels and demons from destroying the world was a colorful adventure full of humor, self-realization, and personal growth. A truly unique gem with a wonderful leading character.

Kat is getting desperate to preserve her mindscape as the angels and demons have joined forces to loot it with the possibility of changing the world as we know it - for good or bad. She turns to the Creators for help with hilarious and unhelpful results. She learns to accept her fate but circumstances change and we see Kat blossom into a leader, coming to terms with mistakes and taking on a new path of responsibility. It's the growth in Kat that is the most rewarding of the series. Sure, the epic battle against the angels and demons is a surprising and rousing event but to witness Kat comfortable with herself and no longer this cynical resentful slacker is what makes it so satisfying.

Kendall Goode and Gab Contreras go out in a blaze of glory with some wild action and loads of color. Goode's designs are fun and the action is well-paced. Kat in an armored suit was the ultimate glow-up in a series full of magical surprises. Contreras enlivens everything with an array of primary colors even the more subtle pastels of the mindscape. The infusion of such bright colors adds to the whimsy and joy in every page even when things get serious.

'Dirtbag Rapture' has been a joyride of biblical proportions led by one of the few Latina characters in comics who is endearing and relatable. This is one of those comics once collected that is worth buying for yourself and for friends. It's an unexpected gem that will entertain and make you feel good once it's all over.
