A promise to never talk about the past is worthless when, deep down, you don't want to keep it.

Dorian will finally find the courage to tell Mag about her past and her possible future, but her confession may have some totally unexpected consequences...

Score: ★★★★☆ (4/5)

'A Thing Called Truth' has been a joyous and sometimes melancholy adventure around Europe with two strangers who've become friends just when they needed each other the most. Iolanda Zanfardino and Elisa Romboli have made Dr. Mag and Dorian an endearing odd couple destined for laughs and love. The conclusion in issue five lays bare the past while exposing an honesty they were trying to avoid. Refreshing and chaotically fun, 'Truth' comes full circle with a charming ending.

It's been quite a series, a sort of romantic comedy about two different people learning to enjoy life to the fullest. One coming out of her shell and letting go and the other a a carefree spirit going to extremes to fulfill her brother's dreams. Dorian pulled Mag out of her bubble and taught her to be spontaneous and fearless. Mag was the companion that Dorian needed while she mourned her loss, sharing her lust for life. And while the deal was not to talk about the past or each other's problems, it was inevitable that a thing called truth would have to be told. This blossoming friendship and maybe more wouldn't survive without total honesty and that is a turning point for them.

Elisa Romboli's effusive cartoony style is just bursting with emotion and action. The pair's shenanigans jump off the page when running down a museum hallway or in the streets of Pairs or playing matchmakers in a cafe. It's drawn with so much joy and personality, the kind you don't see very often in comics. As high as the good times are, the emotionally trying times are equally as affecting Romboli's range to express anger and pain. It can be a gut punch when things don't work out at times between Mag and Dorian.

'A Thing Called Truth' has been a breath of fresh air in comics with this heartfelt, funny, and charming romantic misadventure.
