THIS WEEK IN KICKSTARTER COMICS (4/25/22)

The last week in April brings us some exciting and epic Kickstarter campaigns built on fantasy and adventure. Check out these three worthy projects and pledge your love today!

Trekker: Blood in the Wind by Ron Randall – launching 4/29

Sci-fi bounty hunter Mercy St. Clair's quest leads to a deadly duel in the icy clouds of a remote, frozen world.

“A labor of love by a master craftsman-- and it shows on every page.”

—Kurt Busiek

Mercy's quest to resist the oppressive, system-ruling Council leads her to a remote, frozen world. There she finds new allies, faces old enemies and fights a deadly duel in the frozen skies to determine the fate of the entire rebellion! Like every other book in the series, Trekker: Blood in the Wind works as an excellent, self-contained introduction to Mercy and her world. Each volume tells a complete adventure: beginning, middle, and end. When you put the tales altogether, they just paint a deeper, richer portrait of Mercy and her world.

The Exorcism Engine: A Girl Genius Graphic Novel by Phil & Kaja Foglio

Adventure, Romance, MAD SCIENCE! The next volume of the Hugo award-winning graphic novel series!

Girl Genius is an ongoing story following the adventures of Agatha Heterodyne, the last of a notorious family in which the spark of mad science runs strong. We call it a "Gaslamp Fantasy," by which we mean that it takes place in an old-fashioned, Vernian world of airships, monsters, and wild inventions. Girl Genius is published as a webcomic and graphic novel series, and also as a series of prose novels. The series has won three Hugo Awards for Best Graphic Story! The Exorcism Engines is Book Seven of The Second Journey of Agatha Heterodyne, and the twentieth book in the overall series. If you're new to the Girl Genius comics, The Second Journey is a great place to jump in!

New Rat City: The Complete Series by Honor Vincent

A pest controller battles rats, roaches, pigeons, and more for the future of NYC in this 120+ page two-part comic series!

It's 2083, and there's not much left of New York City after years of floods, pests, and infrastructure mismanagement: Just a small community in northern Manhattan and a few enclaves in the Bronx. Broadway is a sea of grass that ends at the 59th Street floodwall, and tourists arrive by ferry to take glass-bottom boat tours of downtown and the outer boroughs. The only people keeping the city habitable for its few remaining residents are the pest controllers, and humane laws mean they generally aren't allowed to kill. Felicia Shepherd is a pest controller who has recently taken over the family business after her mother disappeared and a rat-related accident took her dad out of commission. Felicia does the best she can for her clients, but her job becomes much harder when swarms of unnervingly organized pests start running rampant across the city! That's when the mayor lifts the no-kill order...
