Oni Press, the multiple Eisner and Harvey Award-winning comic book and graphic novel publisher today announced the English language release of the Prêmio Angelo Agostini 2019 Winner for Best Independent Publication, MISSING YOU, on sale April 12, 2023. Perfect for fans of Bambi and The Fox and the Hound, Missing You is a beautifully illustrated heartwarming story of companionship, loss, and learning how and when to let go from award-winning Brazilian creators Phellip Willian and Melissa Garabeli. 

Released in Brazil in 2019, Missing You was a finalist for the Prêmio Jabuti 2019 Award and artist Melissa Garabeli was awarded the Troféu HQ Mix Award as Best New Talent. 

Book Description

Following the loss of their mother, Thomas, and Lara find an injured deer on the side of the road. Deciding to bring it home with them, they name the deer Lion and quickly become best friends. The new woodland creature soon fills their hearts with warmth and fun, easing their mourning. But when Lion grows more and more curious about the forest beyond their house, Thomas and Lara start to wonder if the forest is where Lion truly belongs. About the Author

A professor during most of his time, and a writer during his breaks and bus rides, Phellip Willian has an English degree from Universidade Estadual do Parana (EUPG) and a Masters in Literature from the same institution. He has released some books with co-creator Melissa, and oftentimes he plays with stories and animals.

About the Illustrator

Melissa Garabeli is a visual and graphic artist. She has a degree in Visual Arts from Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa (EUPG) and has already illustrated many children's books and textbooks, as well as comics. Currently, she spends her time with her watercolors, rescued dogs, and chocolate milk.
