QUICK REVIEW: After reading two disappointing action-orientated comics I needed something uniquely different to cleanse the bad juju I was left with. 'Mirka Andolfo's Sweet Paprika: Black, White, & Pink' anthology one-shot was just the right medicine to heal my soul with its star-studded line-up of creators telling several short stories within the 'Sweet Paprika' universe. It's for mature readers if you're unfamiliar with Adolfo's sexy series so expect romance and plenty of sex. The six shorts feature Paprika, Dill, Artemisio, Anisette, Jean, Za'atar, and more in various romantic situations that are sweet, funny, charming, provocative, and erotic. You don't have to know the 'Sweet Paprika' universe before diving into this to enjoy it. If anything, it should spark your interest in reading more. With so much talent involved which includes Katana Collins, Stjepan Sejic, Retsu Tateo, Steve Orlando, Emilio Pilliu, Luca Blengino, and Otto Schmidt, the 50+ pages allow for fully formed stories to unfold that look beautiful in the titular "Black, White, & Pink" theme with their own interpretation of Andolfo's signature characters. This is going to date me terribly, but SPBWP blends the humorous romantic escapades of 'Love, American Style,' with the sultriness of 'Red Shoe Diaries.' This is a charming and sexy anthology designed to lift your spirits and stir your loins.
