Oni Press Trailer Debut: The Future is Only a Matter of Time in XINO #1

Nick Cagnetti, Christopher Condon, Melissa Flores, Phil Hester & More Lead 40 Pages of Paranoia, Alienation & Anxiety in June!

Oni Press is proud to release a trailer in advance of orders closing for the first issue of a highly anticipated debut: an all-new limited-series event, only perceptible in three dimensions as XINO #1 – the first of three, 40-page intra-ocular lozenges of subversive, psych-surrealist science fiction to cure your awful awareness of our meager reality.

Try not to worry — the implantation process will be guided by the megawatt brilliance of Oni's brightest talents—past, present, and future—as they slowly tune your hopes, dreams, desires, paranoia, alienation, anxiety, and adrenaline to produce the desired results.

In our first exploratory outing:

  • Rising stars Melissa Flores (The Dead Lucky, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) & Daniel Irizarri (Judge Dredd) surgically activate the hidden dimensions of the human senses
  • Cult phenoms Christopher Condon (That Texas Blood) and Nick Cagnetti (Pink Lemonade) debut the world's first intravenous video game system
  • Underground radicals Jordan Thomas (Weird Work) & Shaky Kane (Bulletproof Coffin) surveil the suburbs for signs of covert infiltration
  • Master cartoonist and foundational Oni creator Phil Hester (Gotham City: Year One, The Coffin) returns to the fold to leave his deepest mark yet

And yet to come in future issues: All-new fragments of sci-fi subversion from a brand-new cast of creators, including multiple Eisner Award winner Zander Cannon (Kaijumax), acclaimed artist Dan McDaid (DEGA), Harvey Award nominee Justin Jordan (The Strange Talent of Luther Strode), acclaimed Eisner Award winners David Lapham and Maria Lapham (Stray Bullets), radical agitator Hagai Palevsky (The Beauty of Our Weapons), rising star Alissa Sallah (Rick and Morty: The Manga Vol. 1 – Get in the Robot, Morty!), Los Angeles Times Book Prize winner Alex Segura (Secret Identity), acclaimed artist Artyom Trakhanov (First Knife), acclaimed artist Carson Thorn, Shuster Award nominee François Vigneault (Titan), and more!

"All comics, at their best, do one simple thing: Embed themselves into your psyche like razor-sharp shards hurtled from an alternate dimension. Each and every creator in XINO is bringing their A-game to fulfill that purpose and tell stories that distort and destroy expectations at each turn," said President & Publisher Hunter Gorinson. "Each issue is packed with potent and powerful content – and is definitely not for the faint of heart."

Side effects of XINO #1 (on sale June 14, 2023) may include a debilitating quantity of Jungian hyper-symbolism packaged into palatable doses as "covers" by an astonishing array of artistic talents, including Matt Lesniewski (Crimson Flower), André Lima Araújo (A Righteous Thirst for Vengeance), Malachi Ward & Matt Sheean (Black Hammer Reborn), and, of course, the infamous Shaky Kane (Deadline, 2000 AD).
