QUICK REVIEW: 'X-O Manowar: Unconquered' #3 by Becky Cloonan, Michael Conrad, and Liam Sharp continues to be a beautifully rendered sci-fi drama that bristles with intrigue, menace, and mystery. It's a battle of wills between Aric and Thyra for the sentient armor Shanhara. There are some important reveals in this issue so not a lot can be said without spoiling it but what is evident is the style and tone of the series boiled down into this chapter. It's not your typical space opera, the stakes are personal for Aric but the consequences of Novus Romanus' actions could mean disastrous for the rest of the universe. All the tension and power of the story are embedded in the dialogue. The battle of wills between Aric and Thyra drives the drama and part of what makes this series a page-turner. You're compelled to see what happens next.
