Pow Pow Press Joins Lunar Distribution

Pow Pow Press announced a worldwide exclusive deal with Lunar Distribution, effective with October on-sale titles (currently available for order), for Direct Market/comic shop distribution.

Based in Montreal, Pow Pow Press will join leading indie comics publishers such as Drawn & Quarterly, Silver Sprocket, and Floating World Comics as well as major players such as DC and Image Comics as part of the Lunar family. This will mark the first time Pow Pow Press titles will be widely available in the Direct Market outside of Canada.

“This partnership with Lunar is an incredible opportunity for us to share some of the very best work coming out of Montreal, which in my view is bar-none one of the most vibrant comics scenes in the world,” said François Vigneault, Marketing Manager for Pow Pow Press.

Pow Pow’s offerings will include a mix of backlist titles being offered in the North American market for the first time, such as Sophie Bédard’s Doug Wright Award-winning graphic novel Lonely Boys, and brand-new titles making their English-language debuts, such as the highly-anticipated Naked: The Confessions of a Normal Woman by Éloïse Marseille, arriving in-stores November 2023.

“Being a long-time fan of American comic arts, I am so happy to finally be able to share our books with readers in the USA” said Luc Bossé, founder and publisher of Pow Pow Press and co-creator of Gary: King of the Pick-Up Artists, another Pow Pow graphic novel making its debut in the direct market.

Christina Merkler, Co-owner at Lunar Distribution stated: “We are thrilled to welcome Pow Pow Press into the Lunar family. We are excited for the opportunity to introduce their distinct and engaging graphic novels to our accounts for the first time in the US."

Lunar Distribution was first launched in 2020, when it became the home distributor to DC, and provides distribution services to the Direct Market with an emphasis on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Lunar recently signed an exclusive distribution deal with Image Comics.
