QUICK REVIEW: Zoe Thorogood has quickly put her stamp on 'Hack/Slash: Back to School.' Her distinctive art style, inventive designs, and wit have made this series a must-buy. Issue two takes Cassie, Boo, and Sam on a mission to investigate the latest grisly murder scene and look for the monster responsible. It leads to an unexpected turn that showcases Thorogood's creativity and the trust that Image has with Tim Seeley's baby to make it her own. Darla's introduction is a stunner and the surrealistic 8-bit dimension the girls enter is mesmerizing and frankly, weird. The issue ends with one of the creepiest designs you'll see in horror. Gory, charming, and completely spellbinding, 'Hack/Slash' is a slasher thriller full of surprises.
