Torunn Gronbekk, Walter Geovani, and Omi Remalante, Jr. continue one of the best runs in the history of 'Red Sonja.' Thrilling and engaging with all the hallmarks of great sword and sorcery adventures complete with a powerful villain and supernatural terrors. The fierce and noble Sonja vows to protect the innocents by staving off the threats she may have unleashed when she opened an interdimensional portal and freed the god trapped in Lady Alaberta’s black diamond, Kulan Gath. Returning to the land of mortals, Gath marches through the kingdoms, leading a band of traitors through Brythunia.

After healing from her battle wounds, Sonja realizes that her stay at the convent will be short-lived as injured victims of the evil brought through that portal flood the infirmary. The nuns determine that despite their reservations, Sonja is best suited to fight the threats that endanger them all. And so, she's on another quest for justice but it will take work. This constant threat of danger has been propelling Gronbeck's story arcs thus far and it's been satisfying having Sonja face adversaries both great and small. Here, she gets help from a woman she befriends so she isn't the only badass. The villains are legitimately formidable making them worthy opponents for the She-Devil with a Sword. She might be overmatched with the latest batch of supernatural warriors.

Walter Geovani and Omi Remalante, Jr. continue to do incredible work providing well-paced and brilliantly colored scenes. Under Geovani's pencils, Sonja looks larger than life, strong, and feminine. The character designs are so varied and period-appropriate with great new frightening monsters.

'Red Sonja' keeps on trucking with more spellbinding adventure and danger. It's easy to get lost in this sword and sorcery gem that cements its place as one of Sonja's best stories ever told.
