QUICK REVIEW: Ahoy's best and longest-running title, 'The Wrong Earth' gets a new miniseries from Tom Peyer, Jamal Igle, and Juan Castro. 'The Wrong Earth: Dead Ringers' continues the multiverse misadventures of superheroes from different earths with very different philosophies. The violent vigilantes of Earth-Omega Dragonfly and Stinger II are stuck on Earth-Alpha with campy do-gooders Dragonflyman and Stinger and it's the ultimate culture clash. But first, the Watcher-like narrator, The Reader, recaps the last arcs in detail of 'The Wrong Earth' complete trade covers. It's a sly parody that catches up all the new readers to the ongoing saga but may feel a bit much to avid readers of the series. The art is as bright and bold as ever with Jamal Igle and Juan Castro. The contrasting power dynamics continue to be at play between the heroes but if Dragonfly and Stinger II don't get back to their earth, Earth-Alpha may not be big enough for them all. Charming and exciting with an old-school flair, 'The Wrong Earth: Dead Ringers' gets to the heart of comics and the wonder that drew us to the medium in the first place.
