QUICK REVIEW: After a triumphant first arc that saw the popular Space Ghost in his latest comic book iteration take the industry by storm, David Pepose, Jonathan Lau, and company open up issue six with another great villain and major consequences for the team.

'Space Ghost' has become a reliable source of great space action with amazing illustrations. This new arc proves that the new series is firing on all cylinders providing a guaranteed monthly adrenaline rush but also with a ton of heart. Since fighting Zorak and being forced to fire at him, Jace has removed himself from action as he contemplates what he did. Still feeling the weight of his guilt and post-trauma from the altercation, Jace wallows in depression. Jan and Ghost give him the space he needs while being supportive. It's a subplot that reveals the humanity behind this found family of space protectors. Pepose grounds this otherwise action-packed adventure series in real human connections and is better for it.

The art continues to be pitch-perfect as Lau's designs are cinematic and grand in scale when the fighting begins. Andrew Dalhouse's use of color is always a spectacle but especially in this issue when Moltar's molten lava powers take over the page. As eye-popping as the more visceral moments are, the artists carefully craft some tender moments that are truly heartfelt.

'Space Ghost' launches another arc with a seemingly standalone issue that satisfyingly ties up some lingering issues amid another stellar confrontation with a formidable villain. 'Space Ghost' chugs along as a sure-fire thrill month after month.
