Emmy-Winning Game Writer Launches Indie Comic 'Time Sensitive' on Kickstarter

Strange Land Comics, the new boutique sci-fi imprint from Emmy-winning writer Joshua Rubin (Assassin’s Creed II, Destiny, Telltale’s The Walking Dead, Outriders), has stormed onto the scene with its debut Kickstarter campaign.

The studio’s first title, Time Sensitive #1, reached full funding in two hours of launch and rocketed past 200% funding in the first 24 hours. It has now raised over $25,000 — a remarkable milestone for a debut comic from a brand-new studio.

With two weeks remaining in the campaign, readers still have a chance to join the wave of early backers.

“Seeing this kind of response right out of the gate has been incredible,” said Rubin. “We set out to tell ambitious, emotional, brain-bending stories — and fans have shown they’re ready for it.”

The Flagship Title: Time Sensitive

An existential sci-fi thriller in the vein of Severance, Black Mirror, and Inception, Time Sensitive features stunning art by award-winning Portuguese illustrator Jorge Coelho.

The logline: When Detective Caleb Stone’s wife vanishes at a Los Angeles gas station — so does every trace of their life together. Now, his only hope lies in a mysterious teenage girl who claims she knows why his wife was deleted.
