FIRST LOOK: Patrick Horvath & Tyler Crook Condemn ARCHIE IN HELL #1 Coming in November

…Riverdale Be Damned When Superstar Creators Follow in the Bloody Footsteps of AFTERLIFE WITH ARCHIE for a New Horror Milestone from Oni Press & Archie Comics

TO SAVE HIM, THEY HAD TO DAMN HIM!

Oni Press – the multiple Eisner and Harvey Award-winning publisher of groundbreaking comics and graphic novels since 1997 – and the world-renowned Archie Comic Publications, Inc. are proud to reveal the first look inside the delightfully diabolical pages for ARCHIE IN HELL #1, an infernal new ongoing launching out of Oni Press’ monumental new line of star-studded Archie Comics series … just in time for the 85th anniversary of America’s teenage icon!
This November, join multiple Eisner Award nominee Patrick Horvath (Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees) and Russ Manning Award winner Tyler Crook (Out of Alcatraz, Harrow County) as they forge a brand-new legend of Archie horror, weaving a blood-stained trail from Riverdale’s dark colonial past to its all-too-sunny streets in the modern day!
They say that every small town has a secret. Well, in the case of Riverdale, it’s one heck of a humdinger: An ancient order of cultists has infiltrated its townspeople, bent on using human sacrifice to usher a demon lord into our mortal plane. And they’ve finally identified the final target they need to bring a century’s worth of planning to fruition: hometown football champion and all-around good guy Archie Andrews. But this secret cabal never dreamed that actual witches walk Riverdale’s streets . . . and when cult and coven clash in the final stages of Archie’s secret ritual sacrifice, the consequences will be cosmic . . . and young Archie Andrews will find himself damned to something far worse than Hell’s inner circle.
Unstuck from time and space. Bound to a terrible curse. Late for school. Things are about to go from bad to downright diabolical as Horvath and Crook unleash ARCHIE IN HELL #1, the most malevolent and merciless Archie Comics tale ever told . . . and, truly, you’ll never ever expect what happens next!
“Getting the opportunity to work on this book has been a series of pleasant surprises,” said writer Patrick Horvath. “When Hunter Gorinson and Sierra Hahn from Oni mentioned the possibility to me, it happened to line up pretty perfectly with my schedule. I just found myself thinking that if I was ever going to do something like this, now was the time. I had also been looking for an opportunity to write a project for another artist. Tyler has been an art hero of mine for a while now and getting to work with him on this has been supremely inspiring.”
“I have always wanted to work on an Archie comic, and I was super stoked when Patrick and Sierra presented me with a story that combined Archie with horror and history,” said artist Tyler Crook. “As an artist who loves period pieces, it gives me something meaty to bite into and provides us a wonderful, interesting and terrifying way to explore these classic characters.”
Do you dare? ARCHIE IN HELL #1 will pull no punches when sends America’s number-one teenager six feet under in November with a ghoulishly gruesome line-up of covers from series co-creators Tyler Crook and Patrick Horvath, alongside Paul Azaceta (Outcast), Jesse Lonergan (Drome), Kano (Sabrina The Teenage Witch), Dan Parent (Life with Archie), Mirka Andolfo (Sweet Paprika), and Mahmud Asrar (Conan The Barbarian)!
But the milestone comics publishing event of 2026 doesn’t stop there!
This September, a new day is dawning in Riverdale as New York Times bestselling writer, Edgar Award and Philip K. Dick Award winner, and Eisner Award nominee Ben H. Winters (The Last Policeman Trilogy, Benjamin) joins multiple Eisner Award–winning artist Fábio Moon (Daytripper,Casanova) and multiple Shuster Award-winning cover artist Stuart Immonen (All-New X-Men, New Avengers) to reintroduce America’s favorite teenager! For his entire life, 17-year-old Archie Andrews has had it all: adoring friends, football glory, and a natural charm that always seems to make him the center of attention. Now, through his eyes, experience the warmth and wonder of Riverdale and its near-infinite roster of residents—the popular kids, the endearing oddballs, and everyone in between—as Archie embarks on a whirlwind, all-star adventure through his town’s past, present, and future . . . beginning with a local film festival that’s about to turn everything upside down! And, at the center of it all, lies an enigmatic paradox that only Archie’s pal Jughead Jones can possibly unravel . . . Plus: Puzzles! Pin-ups! And a veritable sweet shop of surprises that all link to the same inextricable mystery . . . Finally, your antidote for postmodern malaise has arrived. Welcome to the all-new ARCHIE #1 this September!
Then, in October, experience the magic in SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH #1 by Hugo Award nominee Corinna Bechko (Green Lantern: Earth One, EC’s Blood Type) and Eisner Award nominee Kano (Daredevil, Gotham Central)! Who’d ever want to be ordinary when you could be a teenage witch instead? Still reeling from the surprise revelation of her secret birthright and with Halloween just around the corner, high schooler Sabrina Spellman is honing her craft one hex at a time and figuring out how to balance her magical new life with the crushing responsibilities of being 16 years old. But when her feline familiar Salem drops a mythical trickster on Sabrina’s literal doorstep, she might not be able to keep her two worlds from smashing together like two busted pumpkins on All Hallow’s Eve. No time for fate. No time for destiny. No time for homework. Being a teenager is far from magical . . . even when you’re a witch! Conjure a new spell of magic and mischief with SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH #1 this October!
